PTA
The Milford School Parent Teachers Association (PTA) is made up of parents who come together to support their children's education, with links to staff and Board of Trustee members.
The PTA movement provides a means for parents and the school to build a successful partnership, based on the best interests of our children. By getting involved in the work of your PTA, parents, teachers and children benefit from the knowledge and insight shared.
Some examples of PTA activities are:
- Entertainment Book fundraising
- Discos in terms 2 and 3
- Second-hand uniform sales
- Annual meet the parents and teachers picnic in term 1
- End of year cards and calendars
- Quiz and auction nights
- Garage Sales
The PTA meetings are held on a monthly basis in the staffroom. At these meetings the Principal tables a report on what is happening at school and parents have the opportunity to provide feedback as well as planning for future activities. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings which are advertised in the weekly newsletter.
If you wish to contact the PTA about any fundraising, parent based topics, social occasions, community services etc then please leave a message with the office and they will contact the appropriate PTA person.
Over the years, the PTA has been responsible for contributing significant donations towards improving the well-being of the school community. To provide guidance for future donations we are invitingteachers, parents and children to submit a Grant form (attached below) with your ideas. Once a completed Grant form has been received, it will be reviewed and discussed at the next monthly PTA meeting. So put your thinking caps on – to help your PTA help you.
